I spent about eight hours today digging through most of my hardware collection and trying to re-org it a bit for my eventual cataloging project. I'll have time to catalog everything right after CT1, Sabbat, CT2, CT3, Damned, and Havok are done.

Had to put off work on the side scroller for a few days for work purposes. Did some OT today and also had an interview for a higher paying position. I'll know on Friday the result

"X" <-- Crossing fingers for you.
Me, I'm trying to get a Fujitsu Laptop restored for these people, Booted from a USB dvd drive, all is fine on booting with the Restore CD's till the cd driver fails to detect the USB DVD drive in DOS mode. The OS is Win98, I'm formatting the HD through DOS, going to copy the CD's to a USB HD and HOPE that I can run the restore from the HD...
The Laptop doesn't have in internal DVD/CD or Floppy drive.

Thanks, I actually just got word a few mins ago! The job is mine if I want it but there's a few issues that will have to be resolved before I start (a co-worker is our "wonderful" head of union, and he is grieving because some of my duties would be "too similar" to his)

Clearly the Union is always correct!!!1

Heh I'm working with my current manager to keep my current role but get a payraise instead and the manager for the position I won now has to keep sweetening the deal. Helps when 2 managers want you and you can have them fight over you lol.
Moloch: in general I have no problem with union stewards, etc, just ours I have a problem with. He actually grieved his manager (the one TRYING to hire me) because he (the union steward) told someone to f-off and the manager was not there to stop him from using foul language in the office.

I think this is the second frivolous grievance you've told me about now.
My grievances involve getting my members money or more time off work, etc. For instance, I currently have thirteen grievances for overtime bypasses sitting at Step 1 waiting for pay out, a little over 25 hours of overtime for my members. Last year, in another case, I was able to get seven years of seniority re-instated for three members after it was wrongly stripped during a mandatory transfer and eventually won a second case getting all three moved back to their original work region.
That is what a union steward should be spending their time on.

Had to dig this old thread up for giggles... Can't remember if I mentioned this or not but a few weeks ago our very own union steward started taking pictures of people while they were working and filed complaints that they were voluntarily working during their 15 minute breaks. Good lols!
Offline
Sounds like you need a new union steward, they should never file cases against their own workers.

Ha oh yes we do. And to prevent any complaints against him, before he reported anyone he sent them an email in advance to warn them not to complain about him or he would have all of his friends also file complaints against those he reported.
sigh
Not much longer (I'm sure of it!) until I can apply for his job. lol

Working over there sounds... complicated.
If I didn't work through my 'breaks', I wouldn't have time to get anything done.
Offline
Heh, that's a good way to put it.
It's certainly not for the faint of heart here.. but on the other side if you can keep on the outside of it, it's a PERFECT script for a comedy show.
