So, now that we've had the new C64C cases Kickstarter, now we have a new colored keycaps campaign over at IndieGoGo
https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/bran … ore-c64--2
I might pledge for some, not sure what color will work with my new transparent C64C cases tho. Life is so hard sometimes
Offline
... and on a related note, the guy from the C64C campaign has the molds for the flat 128 also and there might be some new cases in the future there
He asked in the Kickstarter follow-up survey if we'd be interested in 128 cases. Of course I said yes and hopefully lots more said the same.
Offline
Can you mix colours?
I'm thinking a clear case plus red/blue/green keys like the Enterprise (computer).
Offline
I don't think you can and I'm guessing that wouldn't be a very popular option

Is that survey Q still available? I'll put a yes in. My 128 case barely stays together since someone raided it for screws.

Wow, it may make the target, I'll hop onboard then..

Well keycaps now have option for glow in the dark!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are only 2,500 Euros away looks like its going to happen.
Offline
Fixed up my pledge for this the other day -> three sets, each with translucent option, and of course the shipping pledge
I have a blue and two clear cases coming, so think the translucent blue and clear keycaps will look bad ass! These renders give you an idea of the finished product.

The translucent case does look kind of cool. Installing a blue light inside would add extra coolness. A nice mod.
All other coloUrs... BAH... C64's should be beige and brown!
Offline
I'm similar to Moloch - 1x red & 2x transparent kickstarter cases.
I had to go red(back) after all
I'm still a little confused with the pricing system..
Do I have to buy "3x Set of keycaps - 66 piece" then for pay for the "Translucent upgrade for 3 sets"
Then on top of that add Shipping costs
How does customising the C= key work?
Offline
You buy the keycap set then add the translucent upgrade, in whatever quantity you pledged for.
Finally get the shipping pledge

I bought a set of those

You'll have to post pictures, I want to see how cool they look
Offline
I really like what they have but I find it a bit expensive
Offline
The pledge method is so confusing!
How do you select multiple pledges in one transaction?
Offline
You can't, you must pledge each separately
This is why I mentioned earlier that IndieGoGo and Kickstarter would be better served to offer some some of cart type functionality for campaigns.
Offline
Quite franky that is a pain in the arse...!!
Do they think we are all super rich that each transaction means for non-Euros that they take-out a cut of our currency exchange conversion!!!!!
At least with kickstarter you can see what you have pledge for and change your mind.

Clear cases are almost finished ... yay!

I'm going to wait until the translucent keycaps come in, then it'll be time to make some bad ass looking C64C setups
Offline
Mine came as well YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got my c64reloaded setup inside and like Jon wanted to try I have a blue top with clear bottom and the dark breadbin keys looks pretty good. Also popped in C64reloaded JiffyDos from Jbrain. WHoo my first PAL C64
Was playing the new Bruce Lee II on cartridge wow second one is awesome!!(NTSC or PAL)
Also playing some Monster in Mayhem(PAL Cart) on special cart made by Siam64 on lemon64.
Things I noticed the 1541 ultimate pass-through IEC lays pretty tight against the Svideo/Audio cable maybe a little to snug.
The top of my blue case edges was warped. I put the blue case on top of the clear case. Looking down the seem you can see where the blue edges are lifted up the screws will help straighten it out but i expect a lot more people to be noticing this soon.
Other than that everything working good just need keyboard mounts and our new C64 Keys

Yeah he probably used this: Sound Activated Music Controlled LED Strip Light (youtube)

Awesome. I'm in the middle of building my back deck. I'll have to pick up a few of these strips so that my deck becomes a dance floor when I crank the tunes.

Dam it that colour style matching the breadbin and SX-64 looks good.
Strangely I think these colours are far more sensible over the bold red and blue. As I can see a reloaded 64 board with an old SID inside the breadbin coloured 64c.
Ironically with these new 'sensible' colours there is little need for those indiego keys-sets besides the transparent keys.
To kill my curiosity I ask Dallas about the other molds (c128 & plus4) and was told he still has them.

Updates about keycaps ...
shipment will be definitely this summer. About the survey – it is not out now because we are testing a new material which (if it works) allow us to offer some additional amazing new features. This will not delay anything, dont worry. We can estimate around 70 % of the demand and we will send out the survey befor we reach this “goal”.
we need around 50.000 pieces. The mould produce 2 piece per shot (function keys) and 4 piece per shot of the letter keycaps (A, B, C…). The machine does 2 shots a minute (average), that means a output per hour between 250 – 350 pieces.
and video with production running
